Spinning and Loomette...

Catching up on posts after the holiday:
November turned out to a crafty month.  One such project is a pin cushion design I've wanted to try for a while. I saw it in one of my issues of Piece Work.  It was made with two squares of embroidery canvas, I made mine with handspun cotton and my Loomette (weave-it loom).
This is my first try spinning cotton.  I used a drop spindle I made with a toy wheel and dowel.  I used it like a supported spindle since its very light... too light weight.  I managed to get a good flow going after I read "Respect the Spindle" and learned some the nuances of drop spindles, spindle technique and fiber choice.  It's a great read.
