There are moments when things just fall together. When what you imagine becomes reality. Its most often the simplest of things...

I have a small head, which makes finding a hat that fits very difficult. To further complicate matters I am extremely picky about hats and ideally, I want something thats portable, that can be throw into my bag when i'm not wearing it. Baseball caps make me look like kid.

Clearly this limits my options. After trying on lots of hats, I found some that looked great, but they were serious statement pieces; feathers, mesh, sculptural accents... Not really the throw on, romp around functional things i had in mind.

Then I thought I want a visor.... a flat visor. This is what i came up with. I am soooo happy with it. Its the functional, sun blocking part of of a baseball cap, the soft, flat storage ability of a bonnet without the little house on the praire look. When I was testing the idea I used paper, which I love. Then i made some out of fabric which worked really well, and allows it to be washed and survive the rain. I might try water proofing a paper one, cause I really like the texture of the paper.

(Its also the perfect thing to launch my etsy shop.)
